Please join the World Affairs Council of St. Louis for our annual International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) Resource Recognition Evening and a special Great Decisions conversation featuring Ambassador (ret.) Alina Romanowski, former U.S. Ambassador to Iraq and Kuwait.
Drawing on decades of diplomatic experience in the Middle East and beyond, Ambassador Romanowski will discuss America’s global role in an increasingly complex world, including the importance of international partnerships, coalition building, and diplomacy in responding to today’s global challenges.
This timely conversation will explore questions at the center of current world events:
- Why do alliances and international institutions matter?
- How does diplomacy help prevent and manage conflict?
- What role should the United States play in responding to global crises?
- How are changing geopolitical relationships reshaping U.S. diplomacy?
The evening will also recognize the many volunteers, host families, educators, businesses, organizations, and community partners whose support makes the International Visitor Leadership Program possible in St. Louis.
Ambassador Romanowski’s remarks will be followed by an audience Q&A, with time afterward to continue the conversation and connect with fellow attendees.
