About the Young Global Network

World Affairs Council of St. Louis is dedicated to education and retaining talent in St. Louis. Our goal for this network is to provide emerging St. Louis professionals to St. Louis leaders and educate these individuals on career and volunteer opportunities in international affairs.

Young Global Network Programs

Speed Networking

World Affairs STL works with Amy D’Agrosa at University of Missouri-St. Louis to organize a Speed Networking event. We organize this event for a class in the foreign language department which is geared around providing real world employment assistance for specific language majors.

This event is designed to introduce students to the interview process, assist them in how they can market themselves, and to allow them to be more comfortable with interviews. These are college students, some of which may not have held a job in the past.

Career Opportunities in Foreign Service

World Affairs STL works with local universities to organize our Career Opportunities in Foreign Service panel discussion. Panelists can include representatives from the State Department, Peace Corps, Fulbright, local businesses and non-profits with an international or language focus.

This event is designed to provide college students the opportunity to learn about career and volunteer opportunities at a local and global level.

St. Louis Students in Washington D.C.

The World Affairs Council of St. Louis is affiliated with Global Ties U.S. and the World Affairs Council of St. Louis. Through our membership, our Council is able to nominate students to attend the Global Ties U.S. Annual National Conference as an Emerging Leader and the World Affairs Councils of America Annual National Conference as a Student Scholar.
