Saint Louis University Academic WorldQuest 2025 took place on February 26th, 2025, at Saint Louis University. The event, sponsored by Saint Louis University, the Boeing Institute of International Business, Commerce Bank, Maritz, the St. Louis Aquarium, the St. Louis Cardinals, and Linda Kurz, brought together high school students for a challenging academic competition focused on global issues. The competition was moderated by Rachel Lippman from STL NPR, providing expert guidance throughout the event.
A total of 32 teams from 22 different high schools registered for the event, making it a highly competitive and engaging experience. The teams were tested on their knowledge of world affairs, geography, and current international issues. After several intense rounds of questions, Fort Zumwalt West High School emerged victorious with a score of 60 points, just one point ahead of Clayton High School, who finished second with 59 points. John Burroughs High School secured third place with 56 points, showcasing their strong performance throughout the competition.
The winning team, Fort Zumwalt West High School, earned the honor of representing the region at the national competition in Washington, D.C. later in April. This opportunity offers the top students a chance to compete on a larger stage and further demonstrate their expertise in global issues. The event was a great success, providing an enriching educational experience for the participants and promoting global awareness and understanding among the next generation of leaders.
